One day I am scrolling through my Instagram feed and I saw a post by Zach Arias and how he was dumping Instagram for a new app called Pressgram. Of course there were many comments following (mainly people complaining that it was for IOS only). I respect Zack and his advice so if he endorsed it, I knew it had to be something to check out. I downloaded the app the first week. It was weird at first because I didn’t know anyone to follow besides Zack. But I got out of my shell and started following people with cool photos. 🙂 There were a few kinks to work out, mainly getting it to sync up with my site. I asked many questions via twitter and my questions were answered in a timely manner. Something I appreciated. I had to spend some time on the back end of WordPress to get Pressgram to work nicely with my theme. Trust me, I am no wordpress guru. That is when Google is your friend.
After having the app for 3 months, I must say I am glad I found it. Before September, there wasn’t much activity on my site. It was pretty dormant. Now that I am posting photos via Pressgram, I am getting more traffic than before. Having it linked to my Facebook Page and Twitter has helped too.
Really glad to be part of a community of rebels who wants to own their own content and post cool photos. Now it’s just getting others to jump on board. 🙂 I’m trying my best to be a Pressgram Evangelist and let folks know about the app. My goal is to have at least one friend sign up before the year is over.
Appreciate the Pressgram community and look forward to sharing images with them and the world!
